The Shaquille O’Neal/Kobe Bryant feud continues…but this time Shaq got the freestylin’ word in (although we’re sure it won’t be the last one).
“You know how I be. Last week Kobe couldn’t do without me,” O’Neal freestyle-rapped Sunday at a New York nightclub in footage first shown on TMZ.com.
O’Neal did tell ESPN.com: “It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever . . . I’m totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all.”

Only months after returning to the airwaves after his firing worthy comments about a women’s basketball team, Imus is under fire once again about racially insensitive comments.
During an on-air conversation Monday about the arrests of suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones, Imus asked, “What color is he?”
Told by sports announcer Warner Wolf that Jones, who used to be nicknamed Pacman, is “African-American,” Imus responded: “There you go. Now we know.”
In the face of criticism that ensued, Imus said Monday that he had been misunderstood.
According to Imus, “I meant that he was being picked on because he’s black.”

People magazine is reporting that genius producer Timbaland married publicist Monique Idlett in Aruba over the weekend.
Missy Elliott was among the hundreds of guests who received invitations to the event in Oranjestad, the capital of Aruba.
Timbaland and Idlett had been dating for two and a half years and had a baby girl, Reign, in November.
And in other nuptial news, American Idol winner Ruben Studdard acquired a marriage license with his fiance Surata Zuri McCants in Alabama yesterday.

TMZ reports that DMX was arrested once again yesterday in Miami.
This time, it was for driving without a valid driver’s license. He had already been popped for driving with a suspended license in Arizona only a month ago and then three days later got it for animal cruelty and drug possession.
Things don’t look good for DMX.

Hip-Hop Weekly reports that the Rick Ross/Foxy Brown relationship isn’t just a publicity stunt like many have suggested.
In fact, they assert that Foxy Brown has left her Northern New Jersey home to live with Ross in his Miami mansion.
AND…they speculate that on tonight’s BET Awards, they will announce their secret engagement to the public. Guess we’ll just have to tune in and find out!

Don Cornelius has sold his “Soul Train” franchise to MadVision Entertainment, a multimedia company specializing in branded urban content and production.
The deal gives MadVision production rights to the weekly “Soul Train” series along with a catalog of more than 1,100 hours of archival footage from the show’s 37-year run.
“Soul Train,” which has featured artists from Aretha Franklin to Michael Jackson, airs in syndication. New episodes haven’t been produced since 2006, but it’s understood that MadVision is considering putting the show back into production at some point.

Police in Atlanta pulled Young Jeezy (real name Jay Jenkins) over yesterday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence and speeding. The vehicle, a Corvette, had no license plate.
Jenkins was charged with speeding, driving with no proof of insurance or license plate, having an open container, reckless driving and driving impaired by alcohol or drugs.
He was released from the Atlanta City Detention Center a few hours later on a $4,100 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court July 17.

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III becomes the first album in more than three years to sell a million copies in a week. The album sold 1,006,000 copies to debut at #1 on Nielsen/SoundScan’s list of the best-selling albums in the U.S. That’s the biggest sales week since another rap album, 50 Cent’s The Massacre, came in at #1 in March 2005 with sales of 1,141,000.
While the industry focused on media superstars Madonna, Usher) in searching for someone who might be able to top Carey’s record, it was broken by a rapper with a fraction of their media profile.

Shante Broadus, the wife of Snoop Dogg, was arrested just after midnight on Saturday in California for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol.
She was taken to jail, cited and released pending a court appearance.
She was alone at the time of the incident.
Broadus was married to Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus Jr., in 1997 and have three children.

After only a day of jury deliberation, R. Kelly has been found not guilty in his lingering child pornography trial in Chicago.
Both Kelly and the girl, who was thirteen at the time of the alleged filming, have conistently denied that it is them in the tape.
Kelly had possibly faced 15 years in prison if convicted of the charges. Kelly was found not guilty on all fourteen counts.
