hillmarley150.jpgFormer Fugees lead singer Lauryn Hill is set to make a major comeback according to Hill’s longtime partner and father of her five kids, Rohan Marley. Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley, says Hill is a prolific songwriter who scribbles lyrics all over the bathroom walls and on toilet paper.

“She writes it in the mirror if the mirror smokes up,” said Marley. “She writes constantly. This woman does not sleep.”

8.5.08- Dupri Party Ends In Gunfire

jermaindupri150.jpgGunfire erupted at the close of a party hosted by Jermaine Dupri and attended by Usher, Diddy and others, at Club Dream in Atlanta on Friday night.

When a gunman opened fire in the club in the early morning hours of Saturday, the panicked crowd went running for the exits.

The party was to kick off Dupri’s So So Def Summerfest and also included actors Larenz Tate and Gabrielle Union, as well as Usher.

“I’m sad this incident happened because it interrupted a beautiful and loving party,” Dupri said in a statement released to Access Hollywood. “I’m happy none of my people or friends got hurt. And the party continues.”

A security guard who was struck in the arm was the only injury.

8.5.08- Bernie Mac In Hospital

berniemac150.jpgComedian Bernie Mac was admitted to a Chicago hospital on Friday and is being treated for pneumonia.

In a statement, his publicist said that the 50-year-old comedian is responding well to treatment and should be released soon.   She also said that the pneumonia isn’t related to an inflammatory lung disease that Mac also has. That condition has been in remission since 2005.

8.5.08- Rain Cause of Freeman’s Crash

freeman150.jpgHeavy rains are thought to be the cause of the crash that seriously injured actor Morgan Freeman shortly before midnight in rural Mississippi on Sunday.

The 71-year-old actor was unconscious after the car that he was driving, along with passenger Demaris Meyer of Memphis, flipped over and crashed into a ditch.

Freeman was airlifted to the Regional Medical Centre in Memphis, Tennessee, where his condition was described as serious”.

According to Bill Luckett, a business partner of Freeman’s in the Ground Zero Blues Club chain, the actor needed surgery and could need three to four months to recover.
