1.5.09- Canadian Singer To Play Aaliyah
Canadian-born R&B singer Keisha Chante has reportedly been selected to play Aaliyah, the rising queen of R&B Hip Hop who died in a tragic 2001 plane crash.
The biopic, which will chronicle Aaliyah’s life from childhood to her career success and untimely death, is set to be released next year.
Chante doesn’t have an extensive acting resume but she has starred in a number of indie flicks, including the Canadian movie, the Cat’s Cradle. She also has an R&B album titled “2U” released in 2006 and has another one on the way next year.
